I researched the link for the great white fleet and I learned that our navy was bad to the bone. We had flagships, battleships, and even a couple of cruisers. Teddy Roosevelts idea to send the great white fleet around the world was genius. The purpose of the great white fleet was to send a message to other countries saying that we have the naval power at our control, don't make us use it. The great white fleet helped us gain influential power.
ReplyDeleteI researched the link on the Rough Riders, and I was amazed at the way Teddy not only took action but was successful in the creation of a new group of rebels known as the Rough Riders. Having the Rough Riders by our side during the charge of San Juan Hill made the battle much easier for teddy and his army. After the Rough Riders and Teddy had won the battle of San Juan Hill, they returned to the U.S. where Teddy was chosen to run for president thanks to his brave and courageous actions in the battle.
ReplyDeleteI researched the link about the Spanish American war, and it's amazing how the whole war was started due to the fact that America thought that Spain were the ones who were behind the destruction of the U.S.S. Maine. Although that may not have been true. Some people are saying that the U.S.S. Maine blew up because of the gunpowder and ammunition that was stored in the hull had caught fire and therefore causing an explosion from the inside of the ship.
